Arab Open University

(Office of Her Majesty – Press Department- Amman) – Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah chaired today the 16th meeting of the board of trustees of the Arab Open University in Amman.

At the Arab Open University campus, Her Majesty was received by HRH Prince Turki Bin Talal, Dr. Ali Fakhro, Deputy of the Chair and Dr. Mohammad Abu Qudais, President of the University in Jordan.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania and HRH Prince Talal Bin Abdelazeez inaugurated today the premises of the Arab Open University (AOU) in Tareq.

Queen Rania, co-chair of AOU’s board of trustees, along with its chairman HRH Prince Abdelazeez, unveiled the plaque next to the new building which has been equipped with the latest technologies.

(Jordan Times - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania on Sunday took part in the 9th meeting of the Arab Open University (AOU) board of trustees, where participants discussed several issues including the 2008-2012 AOU strategy and its scientific research plans.

They also discussed establishing a centre in Lebanon to ensure the quality of education, AOU employees’ salary scale and cooperation prospects with Harvard University, in addition to reviewing a follow-up performance report.

(Office of Her Majesty – Press Department – Kuwait) - Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah, co-chair of the Arab Open University (AOU) Board of Trustees, underlined the important role of the university in promoting quality education in the Arab world.

On a one-day working visit to Kuwait, Queen Rania chaired the second meeting of the AOU’s Board of Trustees, with the participation of Her Highness Sheikha Majida Al-Jaber Al Sabbah, His Highness Prince Turki Bin Talal Bin Abdul Aziz, Kuwaiti Minister of Higher Education Dr. Rashid Al-Hamad and AOU President Dr. Munther Salah.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Two steadfast advocates for promoting educational opportunities, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah and His Royal Highness Prince Talal Ben Abdul Aziz, joined forces to lay the cornerstone for the Arab Open University's campus in Jordan.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania on Sunday attended the 11th meeting of the Arab Open University (AOU) board of trustees, where participants discussed the institution’s latest developments, including plans to build campuses in existing branches across the region.

Co-chairing the meeting, Her Majesty Queen Rania was briefed by HRH Prince Talal Bin Abdelaziz on the University’s 2009-2011 strategy.

This came during the first meeting of the University’s Board of Trustees, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Talal Bin Abdulaziz, who is also President of the Arab Gulf Program for United Nations Development Organization (AGFUND).
