Board Meeting

(Jordan Times, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania on Monday urged the Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS) to apply its various health-education programmes in schools across the Kingdom.
 
The Queen, who chairs the RHAS board of trustees, made the remarks at the board’s annual meeting yesterday.

Expressing her appreciation for the efforts exerted by the RHAS staff, administration and partners, the Queen explained that by targeting schools, the RHAS will be able to reach a broader segment of society.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – Oslo) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah met today with His Majesty King Harald V and Her Majesty Queen Sonja of Norway in the Norwegian capital Oslo. The meeting was also attended by Board members of the United Nations Foundation (UNF).

Queen Rania is in Norway attending the UNF Board Meeting, in her capacity as a member of the Board since 2006.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah called for the establishment of a resource center to provide development organizations and policy-makers with research and information on family issues.

Queen Rania, President of NCFA, discussed the idea at the National Council for Family Affairs board meeting, during which the council presented its plan of work for 2003.

(Jordan Times - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania on Wednesday launched the second stage of the Jordan Education Initiative (JEI) and its strategic plans for the next three years.

At a meeting yesterday, attended by JEI board members and principal partners, the Queen praised the JEI’s continued ability to draw more partners from various areas of the world five years after its launch, saying this attests to the initiative’s success.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania on Sunday attended the 11th meeting of the Arab Open University (AOU) board of trustees, where participants discussed the institution’s latest developments, including plans to build campuses in existing branches across the region.

Co-chairing the meeting, Her Majesty Queen Rania was briefed by HRH Prince Talal Bin Abdelaziz on the University’s 2009-2011 strategy.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania on Monday commended the International Youth Foundation (IYF) for its efforts in combating youth unemployment and developing effective practices to improve the lives of young people in disadvantaged communities across the world.
The Queen made the remarks while chairing the IYF Board of Directors meeting in Amman to discuss IYF’s global programmatic agenda and efforts to increase youth employability in selected communities across the Kingdom.
