(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Amman) – Her Majesty Queen Rania al Abdullah made a visit today to the Empowerment for University Women Association where she met with its board members, general assembly and beneficiaries.

Her Majesty was briefed by Nuha Ma’aytah, Chairwoman of the association, on its mandate, activities and achievements, including their latest initiative; erasing illiteracy and capacity building project which is mainly funded by UNESCO. This project is currently being implemented in Al Mafraq Governorate in cooperation with several local associations.

(Jordan Times - Amman) The National Council for Family Affairs (NCFA) on Sunday endorsed the national strategy for the elderly, which seeks to upgrade their economic, cultural and social status.

During a meeting chaired by Her Majesty Queen Rania, the council’s board of trustees endorsed the blueprint, prepared in cooperation with the ministries of social development and health, the Jordan Nursing Council and representatives of the private and voluntary sectors.
