Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Receive Portuguese President and First Lady

(Royal Hashemite Court, Media & Communication Directorate - Amman) Jordan and Portugal on Sunday signed several agreements meant to cement bilateral ties, which were the focus of talks by His Majesty King Abdullah and visiting Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva.
 
In a joint communiqué, the two sides said they are keen to develop and reinforce economic, trade and investment relations and build strategic cooperative ties in line with the Euro-Med Partnership.
 

Queen Rania Inaugurates the “Achieving E-equality in the IT Sector” Program

The program comes in line with national efforts to advance Information Technology (IT) in the Kingdom, and with initiatives spearheaded by Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania to provide Jordanians with opportunities to excel in the field of IT in order to play an active role in the country's progress.

Queen Rania checks on Wadi Araba development projects

(Jordan Times - Wadi Araba) Her Majesty Queen Rania visited two Wadi Araba villages where she checked on citizens’ conditions and projects implemented in the area with the support of the Jordan River Foundation (JRF).  
 
Considered one of the country’s poverty pockets, Wadi Araba has limited natural resources and economic opportunities.
 
The JRF offers technical services to the area through the Rural Community Cluster Development Programme.
 

Queen Rania and UNF Board Members Engage Jordanian Youth in Dialogue on Participation and Empowerment

Queen Rania Meets Youth Taking Part in the ‘for Empowered Generations’ Project

(Jordan Times - Amman) A total of 190 young people from Amman volunteered to take part in a project aimed at fostering youth participation in community work.
 
Entitled “For Empowered Generations”, the project, carried out with the support of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM), seeks to develop youth potential and awareness, in addition to increasing their contributions to community service.
