Queen Rania Participates in a Lively Dialogue at the World Economic Forum's Extraordinary Annual Meeting Addressing Vital Issues Relating to Women

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - The Dead Sea) Over 120 Women from around the world engaged in a lively dialogue to address vital issues relating to the participation of women in the social, economic, and political development process.

The session, held as part of the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Extraordinary Meeting at the Dead Sea, brought together women activists representing business, social development and economic sectors to create a platform to change mindsets that limit opportunities for women.

Queen Rania Visits Al-Hussein Girls’ School in Zarqa

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Zarqa) As students headed back to their classrooms this week, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited Al-Hussein Girls’ School in Zarqa, which is run by the Directorate of Education and Military Culture of the Jordanian Armed Forces.

During the visit, Queen Rania stressed the importance of schools being a natural extension of the family where all ideals and morals develop by providing a suitable educational environment that can foster excellence and creativity.

Queen Rania Launches an Interactive Dialogue Between Arab and Western Women

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Davos) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah launched an interactive dialogue between Arab and Western Women urging them to carry forward a spirit of communication and to engage in intercultural exchanges as a vital step towards building trust between each other.

The dialogue, held under the theme Arab and Western Women – Building Trust Together," was organized as part of the 33rd Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) taking place in Davos, Switzerland.

Queen Rania accepts Swiss Red Cross Honorary Overseas Presidency

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Geneva) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah accepted to be the Swiss Red Cross Honorary Overseas President, addressing an audience of 400 policy and decision makers at the Red Cross fundraiser in Geneva.

Attending on behalf of Her Majesty was Princess Magda Ra'ed, who heads the Al-Hussein Society for the Habilitation/Rehabilitation of the Physically Challenged (AHS).

Queen Rania attends first meeting of the Arab Open University Board of Trustees

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah, Co-Chair of the Arab Open University (AOU) Board of Trustees, stressed the importance of quality education and of expanding the educational base to reach all segments of society in the Arab World especially Arab women.
 
This came during the first meeting of the University’s Board of Trustees, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Talal Bin Abdulaziz, who is also President of the Arab Gulf Program for United Nations Development Organization (AGFUND).
 

Queen Rania calls for immediate humanitarian assistance to Iraq

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) In an open letter to The Times Newspaper in London, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah made an urgent appeal to the coalition forces to provide secure access for humanitarian workers to enter Iraq and for casualties to be immediately evacuated.

Calling on the forces to establish humanitarian air and land corridors to take badly injured people for treatment in Jordan and elsewhere, Queen Rania spoke of the suffering of the Iraqi children, and expressed the urgent need to take immediate action to eliminate this suffering.

The five-day event, which is organized in cooperation with the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), is part of Queen Rania's efforts in promoting the potential of the Tourism sector in Jordan and abroad.
