Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah has accepted to become Honorary President of the Jordanian Society for the Care of Diabetes, the Kingdom's sole society aiming to combat the disease, and to provide care and financial assistance to its victims.

Queen Rania recently met with members of the Society, during which the President Dr. Mohammad Al Zahiri, invited the Queen to become the Honorary President of the Society.

During the meeting, the goals and mission of the Society were outlined, as well as the status of diabetes in the Kingdom.

Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah has accepted to become Chairperson of the Advisory Committee of the International Network on Water, Environment and Health, a program of the United Nations University dealing with the global water crisis threatening sustainable development.

أيها السيدات والسادة،

نلتقي اليوم، لنحتفل بالطفل والأسرة، المكونان الرئيسان لحياتنا، من خلال افتتاح "دار الأمان"، المركز الأول من نوعه في منطقتنا العربية.

لقد كانت فكرة هذا المشروع حلما راود الكثيرين من المهتمين برعاية الطفل وحمايته. وبحمد الله، فقد تحولت الأماني إلى حقائق على أرض الواقع، وأصبحت هذه الدار نموذجا للعمل المخلص يهتدي به كل المهتمين بأمان الطفل والأسرة في المنطقة.
