Queen Rania Meets with Members of Youth Exchange Programs
(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Amman) – Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah met with a group of members from the Ta3leeleh (Ta’leeleh) and Zikra Initiatives which focus on creating youth exchange programs in Jordan. The meeting, which comes as part of Her Majesty’s on-going efforts to promote a culture of volunteerism and civic engagement, took place at Muhataf Al Rimal in Amman, a private-public space for artists in Jabal Al-Weibdeh.
Her Majesty first met with a group of participants from Zikra along with the initiative’s Founder, Rabee Zureikat. Mr. Zureikat gave the Queen a brief presentation about the initiative and the different programs they organize including their exchange tourism program which fosters interaction amongst the country’s youth by bringing people from different communities across the Kingdom together through various activities, thus bridging any socio-economic gaps that may exist.
Her Majesty watched a video that outlined Zikra’s achievements to date, and listened to four different participants who talked about their experiences with Zikra and the benefits they gained from the initiative.
Her Majesty talked to the participants about the importance of volunteering and helping to bring about positive change through creative ways.
Queen Rania also toured the workshop area where She saw samples of the activities that Zikra participants engage in as part of their tourism exchange program between Amman and Ghor Al Mazraa.
Her Majesty also met with a group of Ta3leeleh members who presented to The Queen the different ways in which Ta3leeleh provides a space for youth to share their ideas and creations in a supportive environment. Rawan Al Zaine, Ta3leeleh’s Founder, briefed Her Majesty about the initiative and their Goals.
The Queen encouraged the participants to venture into developing their talents and breaking the fear barriers that they place on themselves to expand their ideas and creations into reality, adding that those who combat their fear of failure are bound to succeed.
Ta3leeleh is a grass-root community-based forum that brings people together from around the Kingdom, region and globe to share their ideas, interests, observations and experiences in front of a supportive audience in a safe and comfortable environment. Ideas and interests presented include: research papers, philosophies, personal experiences, inventions, topics of interests, speeches, debates and the arts.
