Greater Amman Municipality

(Office of Her Majesty – Press Department – Amman) - Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) headquarters today to follow up on its children’s programs and inaugurate the “View Amman” project.

Visiting the exhibit area, Her Majesty was briefed by Head of the Provisional Committee of GAM, Ammar Gharaibeh, on the project, the Amman Children’s Map, the King Abdullah II House of Culture & Art and GAM’s future projects. 

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – Amman) Aspiring to declare Amman a child-friendly city by the year 2010 was the purpose behind the “Policy and Priorities of the Greater Amman Municipality for Childhood” -- a policy framework document which was unveiled on Monday.

Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah launched the policy document in an official ceremony attended by childhood stakeholders and practitioners from governmental and non-governmental institutions, along with children and youth.

(Jordan Times - Amman) Seventy-seven girls and boys on Monday briefed Her Majesty Queen Rania on their participation in the Child Friendly City Executive Agency, launched with the Queen’s support and the help of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM).
