Queen Rania Returns to Morocco

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Fez) As part of her mandate as UNICEF's first Eminent Advocate for Children, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited two UNICEF supported projects in Fez, with Lalla Salma of Morocco, to highlight the country's efforts in combating child labor and promoting education for all.

After their visit Queen Rania said, "In many ways, education is a 'social vaccine' for girls…it immunizes against untimely death, poverty, and unemployment and helps them build healthy, hopeful futures."

Queen Rania Visits Health Center in Morocco

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Fez) Concluding a working trip to Morocco, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited the Dukarat Health Center in Fez, with Lalla Meryam, to highlight Morocco's efforts in promoting child health and access to immunization.

Queen Rania, who earlier this year was named UNICEF's first Eminent Advocate for Children, commended the government-run clinic's mission in providing free health care to residents of the area. "You are helping to eliminate the tragic loss of life," said the Queen.

Queen Rania Attends Launch of National and Regional Reports Entitled: “Women Entrepreneurs: Characteristics, Contributions and Challenges"

(Jordan Times, Khalid Neimat - Amman) Reducing the time it takes to register a business and increasing access to capital topped list of major challenges facing women entrepreneurs in Jordan, according to two reports released today.
 
The national and regional reports, entitled: “Women Entrepreneurs: Characteristics, Contributions and Challenges,” outline main successes and challenges facing businesswomen in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Queen Rania Joins Children and Mothers of Hai Nazal to Celebrate Mother's Day

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Amidst crayons, and cutouts, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah joined children and their mothers from Hai Nazal to celebrate Mother's Day. 
 
Over 200 children were gathered at the Community Center Association (CCA), preparing greeting cards and other handicrafts for their mothers, when Queen Rania joined them. The children, already excited as they were participating in the day's events at the center, welcomed the Queen enthusiastically by tossing balloons and confetti as she walked in. 
 

Queen Rania Rehabilitation Center Inaugurated in Cologne

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – Cologne) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah inaugurated the new Queen Rania Rehabilitation Center at the University of Cologne in Germany, where a memorandum of understanding was signed between the university and the Royal Medical Services (RMS) in Jordan.

According to the agreement, the center will offer training programs for Jordanian physiotherapists and physicians. This will include both short-term and long-term practical training at the rehabilitation center.

JRF, UNESCO Sign Cooperation Agreement in Paris

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department—Paris) In her efforts to promote early childhood education and care, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah attended a signing ceremony between the Jordan River Foundation (JRF), and United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), as well as a JRF fundraiser, in Paris.

Queen Rania Attends Night of Jordanian Treasures, Meets with UNESCO Goodwill Ambassadors

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – Paris) In line with her efforts to promote Jordan and its culture and heritage abroad, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah patronized "The Night of Jordanian Treasures," in Paris, and met with several UNESCO Goodwill Ambassadors on the occasion of their annual meeting.

Queen Rania and Children Explore Jordan's First Children's Museum

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Over 150 Jordanian children joined Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah in a visit to the Kingdom's first interactive Children's Museum, where they were invited to explore the various exhibits before the official launch.

Queen Rania and the children walked through the museum, where the young adventurers participated in various interactive activities and played in the different exhibit areas. Following the tour, the children were invited to share their feedback on their visit to the museum.

His Majesty King Abdullah II Calls for Formulating 5-year Higher Education Strategy

(Royal Hashemite Court, Communication & Information Division - Amman) His Majesty King Abdullah called for formulating a five-year national strategy for developing the higher education sector.

The King made the remarks during a visit to the University of Jordan.

King Abdullah said the goal of his visit is to ensure drawing up a plan that identifies what is required, adding that he is aware of the challenges facing the higher education sector.
