When I was first imagining what I would like to say this morning, I had the idea it would be great to start by quoting a Chinese philosopher. I knew it might seem a bit clichéd, but the temptation was hard to resist, when thinking about a culture whose ancient wisdom is so profound.

The biggest challenge was where to begin. So many brilliant scholars to choose from! At last, I settled on a book of quotations by Lau Thawz. And here is the first thing I read:

“He who speaks more is sooner exhausted.”

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Beijing) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah lauded the spirit friendship between Jordan and China and the latter's achievements in education, as she explored, first-hand, a number of educational institutions, on the first day of a four-day working trip to the country, during which she also had the opportunity to look into possible means of co-operation between Jordanian and Chinese educational institutions and women organizations.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Dalian) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, reiterated the importance of the bilateral ties between Jordan and China during a meeting with Chinese Prime Minister, Wen Jibao. The Chinese Prime Minister, for his part, commended the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah in the region and the world, and thanked Her Majesty for her participation at the meetings of the World Economic Forum, in her capacity as a Foundation Board Member. Queen Rania expressed her deep admiration of China's culture and history.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Dalian) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah  called on international corporations and members of the global community to adopt a new and global ‘moral language of the conscience’ to help bridge the growing divide between the Muslim world and the West, and create a global conversation within which all citizens can be a part regardless of their cultural differences.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Beijing) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah underscored the vital need for the global community to add their will to the resources and action on the ground to enable the world to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by the year 2015. Her Majesty's remarks came during a press conference held following her visit to a migrant community at the Shibalidian Township in Chaoyang District, Beijing, where she witnessed first-hand the situation of migrant women and children.  The visit, which occurred on the second day of a four-day working trip
