Long gone are the days of traditional ribbon cutting ceremonies—on Wednesday, with the click of a mouse, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah cut a virtual ribbon to launch the new Innovative Teachers’ Network (ITN) in Jordan. Her Majesty lauded the pioneering effort at the ITN launch in the Dead Sea which, she said, leads to people connecting all over the world.

That was Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah's main message to over 200 delegates attending a panel discussion during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Thursday. Queen Rania, asserted however, that tapping into the energy and talent of youth is a priority solution to the region's most pressing challenges.

(Office of Her Majesty – Press Department – Madaba) - Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited the village of Al Shgeig, near Madaba, today, where citizens voiced their concerns and highlighted the need to improve the infrastructure and living conditions in their community.
The village is in a remote area near the district of Theeban, and some of the problems the citizens face include a lack of access to transportation, clean water and electricity.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department – London) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan joined Chancellor Gordon Brown, representatives from GAVI and six European governments as well as global organizations in the field of child providers, Tuesday, in launching the International Finance Facility for Immunization (IFFIm). IFFIm is an institution for development which is working to support the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) by bringing $4 billion to the alliance over the next 10 years.

(Royal Hashemite Court, Communication & Information Division - The Hague) His Majesty King Abdullah reiterated that there cannot be lasting peace until injustice against Palestinians is corrected.
"This is the basis for the landmark Arab Peace Initiative. Articulated at the 2002 meeting of all Arab states, it offered a comprehensive settlement… guaranteeing Israel's security to live in peace with its neighbors… and providing, at long last, a sovereign, viable and independent Palestine," the King told the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague on Tuesday.
