Queen Rania Chairs the National Council for Family Affairs Board of Trustees Meeting
(Office of Her Majesty – Press Department – Amman) - Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah chaired the annual Board of Trustees meeting of the National Council for Family Affairs (NCFA), on Monday, which discussed the Council’s past achievements and its future plans.
During the meeting, Her Majesty stressed the importance of activating the royally decreed Domestic Violence Protection Law.
She also inquired about meeting victims of domestic child abuse by video and about the progress and implementation process of this initiative.
The meeting highlighted the importance of getting all concerned parties to abide by the National Framework, emphasizing their need for collaboration in all matters of family welfare.
The Queen also discussed the need for improving the Kindergarten Criteria set by the Council to include measures targeting early childhood development as recommended by the National Strategy for Human Resource Development.
Secretary General of the Council, Mr. Fadel Al Homoud, underscored the importance of holding awareness meetings regarding the newly decreed Domestic Violence Protection Law and providing training to those responsible for its application.
The Board also stressed the need to implement family counseling programs run by adequately trained counselors.
The National Council for Family Affairs is a Queen Rania initiative that was established in 2001 with the aim of helping Jordanian families achieve a decent standard of stability and well-being.
