(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Southern Shuneh) –Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah paid a visit to the Madrasati Winter Camp at Al Karameh Scouts Camp in Southern Shuneh today. The Queen joined the students in some of their activities and checked up on the progress of the Winter Camps in other areas across the Kingdom.
The camps, organized by Her Majesty’s Madrasati initiative, aim to occupy students during their days off school, and provide them with the space to explore their talents and practice their hobbies.
Her Majesty joined groups of girls in the different activities for the day including the Theater of Shadows, where the students explore their dramatic talents and the use of drama as an educational tool. In the Future Workshop, students learn to aspire and plan their futures through learning how to set goals and accept constructive criticism that helps them improve and ultimately reach their goals.
Other activities include mask making, and Student Led Initiatives, which encourages students to take responsibility and be more pro-actively involved in their schools.
Chaperoning teachers also benefit from the camp, through the Teachers as Leaders program, where they take part in a two day session on leadership and interpersonal skills.
