(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah launched, Tuesday, a new plan to renovate Jordan’s public schools and improve the learning environment. “Madrasati”, Queen Rania’s latest initiative, will build a partnership between community members and public and private institutions, to upgrade at least 500 of the Kingdom’s public schools.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah on Monday announced the launch of Madrasati Phase II which seeks to renovate and upgrade an additional 100 schools in Jerash, Ajloun, Balqa and Madaba. The schools were selected in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Davos) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah’s core message, delivered during a panel discussion held at the World Economic Forum in Davos, resonated clearly in the halls of the Congress Centre on Saturday: “There is no better equalizer in this world than education; it’s the greatest justice you can give people.”

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Amman) – Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited today two Madrasati schools in Al Ghor Al Safi in southern Jordan to inspect their progress after completion of contraction and refurbishment work. The Ghor Al Safi residents lined the streets in celebration, welcoming Her Majesty to their schools.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Amman) Building on its community-based participatory approach, Queen Rania’s Madrasati initiative established a volunteering scheme aimed at enhancing extra-curricular activities in schools across the Kingdom.

The volunteer program, inaugurated in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Rania, reflects the spirit of community service and social responsibility that lie at the core of the grassroots initiative.

(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department - Amman) The success of Madrasati’s educational programs could easily be seen and heard during today’s gathering at the Um Al Manee’ School in Sweileh, when Queen Rania listened as students highlighted the benefits brought about by the initiative.

When you were a child, did you ever pull the blankets over your head and call down to your parents, "Do I have to go to school today?" I certainly did. And now that I'm a parent, I occasionally hear the phrase too.
Yet, I was fortunate to be able to take my education for granted.
