(Jordan Times - Amman) The country’s five telecommunication companies came together under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania on Tuesday to sign an agreement activating a toll-free Family Support Helpline.

The agreement was signed at the Building Public-Private Partnerships to Enhance Social and Economic Development Conference held at the Dead Sea to highlight corporate social responsibility and the importance of partnerships among different sectors.

Queen Rania Attends Annual MIT Learning International Networks Consortium

(Jordan Times, Linda Hindi - Dead Sea) The majority of the world’s population cannot access higher education but anyone who can use the Internet can obtain a quality tertiary education with hundreds of free courses offered by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

By logging on to www.ocw.mit.edu, educators and students can access over 1,700 MIT courses including exams through their OpenCourseWare (OCW).

Queen Rania Says Sustainaibility Affects Perspective on Others at WEF

“Sustainability is about meeting the needs of today’s generation without denying tomorrow’s generation the ability to meet theirs- in the economic, social and environmental spheres,” stated Queen Rania in an opening address at WEF’s “Sustainability in the Middle East” session.

(Jordan Times, Roufan Nahhas - Dead Sea) The three-day 4th International Olympic Committee (IOC) World Conference on Women and Sport held under the patronage of Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania concluded on Monday with the participation of more than 500 delegates from 150 countries at the King Hussein Ben Talal Convention Centre.

The session, held as part of the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Extraordinary Meeting at the Dead Sea, brought together women activists representing business, social development and economic sectors to create a platform to change mindsets that limit opportunities for women.
