Queen Rania is one of The World's 100 Most Powerful Women
(Office of Her Majesty, Press Department- Amman) Her Majesty Queen Rania was listed amongst the World’s most powerful women according to Forbes magazine. The list, which is published annually by the magazine, includes women from all walks of life such as heads of state and first ladies, bankers and cultural icons, CEOs and entrepreneurial athletes.
According to the magazine, Queen Rania who came in at number 76, was awarded the spot on the list due to Her “efforts on behalf of education, human rights and women's issues” and as well as her online influence “with more than 1.3 million followers on Twitter and more than 300,000 fans on Facebook; she also maintains her own website and YouTube channel”
Michelle Obama, the American First Lady, topped the liste whish also included three other Arab women; Sheikha Moza Al Missned, First Lady of Qatar; Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Economy in the UAE and Maha Al Ghunnaim Co-Founder and Chair of Global Investment House in Kuwait.
In the past two years, Her Majesty has directed most of Her attention to ensuring that quality education is available to all. Queen Rania launched “Madrasati Palestine” this year in East Jerusalem, based on the same model of Her Majesty’s “Madrasati” in Jordan. She also Co-Chaired 1Goal, a global campaign, in partnership with football’s governing body “FIFA”, which aims to galvanize support to ensure that 69 million children, currently out of school, get access to quality education.
